We are pleased to announce that the 6th annual Designer Toy Awards will be held on Saturday, October 8th at Hudson Terrace NYC!  Taking place on Saturday night of New York Comic Con weekend, this venue (which you may remember from last year) is just a short walk from the Javits Center.

Join us and your favorite artists to celebrate the best toys, artists, and brands of last year! Time, tickets, and plenty of more information will be announced shortly, so stay tuned and follow the DTAs on Twitter at ...

The DTAs have now officially launched the nomination period for the 6th annual awards! Running from now until August 10th (6pm EST), nominations can be submitted right here! 

This year's awards will accept nominations for releases, artists, and companies, that were active from January to December 2015.

We've shown the stunningly strange creations of Peter Kelk, aka Seymour, numerous times in the past, and if you haven't seen him here then you surely have at one of his various other exhibitions. Or perhaps you first encountered him at this year's DesignerCon. Either way, this New Zealand-born and Australia-based artist is sure to be taking the U.S. art toy world by storm. We're thrilled to have him be a part of the upcoming DTA Dunny Show 2, due to which our great friends over at Kidrobot interviewed...

Whether you know them as Jenn & Tony Bot or simply as The Bots, this husband-and-wife duo surely have impressed you with their cute and colorful designs. Having already created one of the most talked about pieces from last year's DTA Dunny Show, we're thrilled that they accepted our invitation to participate in the DTA Dunny Show 2 — though with them tackling a 20-inch Dunny this time around!

Their pieces, made by sculpting polymer clay over the platform's surface, are surely the work of trained artists… only...

Known for his colorful palate and proficient application of paints, artist Brent Nolasco is not only a well-regarded customizer and participant in this year's DTA Dunny Show 2. Freely mingling cute characters with nightmarish backdrops, Nolasco is one of those rare artists that can bring forth both the adorable and creepy from any toy's shape.
